12-10-08 THE LEADING CAUSE OF OBESITY
Yes, it is true. I Randi Cluff have uncovered the answer to the-
QUESTION: what is the leading cause of obesity
ANSWER: children
Absolutely! Married life started for me 31 years ago next month. I started at a whopping 120 pounds. On a 5'6" frame.
Thirty years and 100 pounds later...
YES, you read that correctly. ONE HUNDRED POUNDS.
I could blame it on my thyroid, since a doctor told me once that I could diet and exercise all I want and I wouldn't lose a pound if my thyroid was out of whack. I could blame it on marriage. I use to say that when a man gets married he gets exactly what he is looking for, some one to cook, clean, and take care of him. But when a woman gets married she loses everything she HAD, someone to compliment her, bring her little gifts, someone to pay attention to her every need. When she gets married HE doesn't feel a need to do that anymore. So a woman turns to FOOD for COMFORT. When a woman has children, and I was still skinny after birthing mine, she becomes a coaxing chef. "Come on taste it, yum, yum", followed by a big example bite.
OK here comes the pounds creeping on little by little.

Then there are the left overs. Can't let that go to waste, or is that waist. I am now the human garbage disposal. Now that the children are grown the weight should be dropping right?
NOT!
NOT!
How am I supposed lose weight when on
SATURDAY: lunch with Callie at Macayos
TUESDAY: movie, popcorn, soda, with Clayton
WEDNESDAY: dinner at Sun Asian with Kyle
and yes, I love you too Erna, name the time and place.
Hey, it gives me something to write about. You don't read any skinny people writing about their weight. How interesting would that be.

Hmm 30 years ago I was skinny.
Then 15 years later I was still skinny.
And here I am, still skinny.
Now where is the humor in that.

Hahaha, well I don't even have the excuse of 30 years or giving birth to 3 kids... I am still up in weight just as much as you. I moved out here a 5'11 125lbs, and now 210lbs and shrinking 5'10. I like following your journal, because it helps me keep things in perspective, and helps me realize that all the skinny people I see in the ward, at the store, etc. well, that I am not the only person that isn't happy with their body with being bigger. So Thanks for sharring, I am hoping that I can start to get back on the horse and be motivated like you.
ohh and by the way, happy early anniversary!
