HEADACHES AND HUT TUBS (WARNING:graphic images)

It started at work on Monday.

A headache that just kept getting worse as the evening came.

Have you ever had a migraine?

I don't know what brought it on. I don't get them very often anymore. I use to get a couple a month but now I get maybe 1 or 2 a year.

It starts in my forehead and slowing moves to the top, down the temples and finds a final resting place at the base of my skull. At first it feels like my eyes are going to pop out of their sockets and almost feels somewhat better if I use my thumbs to hold my eyes in place. This is after I have massaged my forehead so much that a coworker asks why my face is so red.

When I get home from work it has moved to the soft spot on the top of my head, (yes, I still have a soft spot-at least I do when I have a migraine). I use my index and middle finger to keep my brains from exploding out of my soft spot.

That didn't work. Well, I mean my headache didn't go away, not that my brains exploded out of my head.

Now is when I take the tylenol that NEVER works. Washed down by a swig of Pepsi.

Six o'clock and I am in bed with the blanket over my eyes. The light has a stabbing effect. Blanket off, on, off, on. Due to chills and sweats. It is really hard to keep my eyes covered while throwing the blanket off and on. Note to self: get some of those glamorous eye cover things.

Must the people in the living room talk, I can hear them and my headache comes with an amplifier. The sound of their voices tends to vibrate my brain like the tremors preceding an earthquake. Everything is so magnified by a migraine that even Derril turning a page of the book he is reading feels like the space shuttle is launching right next to me.

Nothing left to do but get in a hot tub of water. If the water is hot enough to turn my skin red it seems to draw enough blood out of my head to relieve the pressure. I save this as a last resort due to a phobia I have of taking a bath with a headache. Do you know how many people take a bath on the way to suffering a stroke?

As I squeeze into my little ol bahtub I feel like Jabba the Hut. The one benefit being that it doesn't use up as much water when the tub is full of FAT.

Graphic I know, but this IS what I look like with a headache in the bathtub.

Now is when I start to covet Erna's bathtub. Oval and wide in the middle. I have dropped so many hints to Derril that we need a hot tub but now I realize what I really need is a Jabba the Hut Tub.

Thank heaven this did not turn into a full blown migraine, I HATE throwing up.

And just in case you were wondering what I look like without the headache

Ohhh, you are way to hard on yourself! But I do know the feeling of trying to take a bath, and you don't fit in the tub. I was giving Eden his bath last night and he was swimming around and snorkling in the tub. I was thinking about how I can't even have my legs straight because I am too tall or that if I were to lay in the tub with my legs straight up the wall, my head would still stick out because I am too tall. Ohhh, who designs these silly small tubs, they are not practical! So don't feel bad, I am in the same boat!
