SHAME ON COUNCILMAN JOHNSON

I am mad AGAIN.

I am sick and tired of dirty politicians and I think that Councilman Johnson falls into that catagory.

Last Friday when there was a house fire on his street he decided to check on his neighbor's safety by trying to cross a police line.

Yes, it was his neighbors house that was on fire. But the police and fire department were already on the scene. Let them do their job and stay out of the way.

But NOOOooooo, not Mr. I'm a retired police officer and city councilman. No, a policeline does not apply to him.

So when Councilman Johnson tried to cross the policeline, and touched the officer (when you touch a police officer you get arrested), he was put to the ground and cuffed.

When a firefighter said to the officer "don't you know who that is, he is a city councilman" the officer replied "I don't care if he is the President of the United States".

Now Councilman Johnson is taking that statement "I don't care if he is the President of the United States" and calling it RACIST. Yep, racist.

And the councilman is taking the opportunity to GRANDSTAND the whole situation by calling in the media, the Nation of Islam, the FBI, and any and all civil rights groups.

Shame on Councilman Johnson for trying to use his position as a city councilman to usurp the authority of a police officer who is just doing the job he was hired to do.

Councilman Johnson, as a retired police officer, of all people should know better than to cross a policeline.

I think the first sign of corruption in politics is when an elected official thinks that laws and police protocol do not apply to him.

And shame on Mayor Gordon (although I am not surprised) for jumping on the media bandwagon by offering to have a "BEER SUMMIT".
