FINISHED THE BOOK OF MORMON 3-28-08
We finished reading the Book of Mormon yesterday (see Free Page 4 for scripture journal) So today we started the Doctrine and Covenants. I just love the D & C. In the introduction, 3rd paragraph it states "the Doctrine and Covenants is unique because it is not a translation of an ancient document, but is of modern origin and was given of God through his chosen prophets for the restoration of his holy work and the establishment of the kingdom of God on the earth in these days. In the revelations one hears the tender but firm voice of the Lord Jesus Christ speaking anew in the dispensation of the fullness of times; and the work that is initiated herein is preparatory to his second coming. In fulfillment of and in concert with the words of all the holy prophets since the world began." That is what is so wonderful about the church. We have modern revelation and a living prophet. A prophet who is in direct communication with God. There is no doubt in my mind. The Lord loves his children today just as in days of old and therefore will not leave us without his direction. Last week when Barack Obama spoke about his minister and that he didn't agree with some of the things he said, I thought how wonderful it is that my prophet is a literal prophet and that there is nothing he would ever say that I would ever disagree with, because he is the Lord's mouth piece. It would be impossible to disagree with the Lord himself.
