RANDOM THOUGHTS 9-23-08
I have seen blogs where the post is a bunch of random thoughts and I always thought that was dumb but that is all I've got this morning. INTIMIDATION-I am intimidated by people who are smarter than me. I didn't go to college, except for about 3 weeks of a nutrition class that was sooooooo boring that I dropped out. I gave the lesson in Young Women on Sunday and there were 3 people there. A girl who comes on occasion and is not a member, the first counselor in the YW presidency who happens to be a nurse, and then another girl who is 16 and a junior at ASU. Helloooo, INTIMIDATED!!! FAT-for those of you who are blind, I am FAT. I am tired of being fat. POLITICS- I am not changing my way of thinking, others who disagree with me are not going to change their way of thinking. Probably the most objective people are the ones who are such open thinkers that they haven't made up their minds yet. No point at all in arguing. MEMORY-I can't remember a thing. I read things that I like and then an hour later can't remember enough of what I have read to share it in any form that would make sense. Yet I can have it all figured out in my head but it gets lost coming out of my mouth. I use word association a lot. I could never remember that Abinadi was the prophet in the Book of Mormon who was burned to death until mentally I refer to him as Aburnadi. Same with Ammon, I couldn't remember that he was the missionary who cut off the arms of the wicked gang that was scattering sheep until I started to think of him as ARMmon Hammer (arm on the baking soda box). If my brain only would work as a team with my mouth. Maybe I could explain what I think. Like why faith makes sense to me as much as love makes sense to me. BOOKS-I love books, I love the smell of the pages, the feel of the dust jacket. I am drawn to books like some women are drawn to jewelry or clothes. I was near a Barnes and Noble on Saturday and had to tell myself that I didn't need to buy a book just because there was a bookstore in the same parking lot. I have piles of books some of which I have read and others which I hope to someday read. Callie will read the same books over and over again with the defense of some people watch the same movie more than once. I have always thought there are too many books in the world, to spend my time reading one that I have already read. In the movie Sabrina with Harrison Ford there is a scene where Sabrina is talking to her father in their home. He is sitting in a chair reading a book surrounded by stacks of books. I thought that was a beautiful sight, more beautiful than the rich home Harrison Ford's charachter lived in. I am probably just as addicted to books as I am to food. WANNA BE-I have list of things I wanna be when I grow up. Yah, yah, I know I'm running out of time. Always wanted to play the piano, and the violin. Wanted to be a constitutional lawyer. Wanted to be a stay at home mom. Wanted to be a seamstress as good as Kathy, as spiritual as Ruth, as funny as Heidi, as gracious as my Mom and as smart as Derril. But as it turns out, I am just a tomboy bus driver with no musical skills whatsoever.
