SLEEPOVER WEEKEND 11-3-08

I seem to have a pattern of never blogging on the weekend. So come Monday I have some catching up to do. Friday was Halloween. We haven't had trick or treaters in years but this was the first time I didn't buy any candy. So it is just another day around here.
My big weekend started on Saturday morning around 9am. That is when I went to the Fajitas parking lot and met Erna to pick up my girls, Ryleigh and Ellie, for a sleepover. I got the girls and went back home to get ready for my "company picnic". Not really my thing but thought the girls would enjoy it since it was at Encanto Park. Derril went too.
Ry and El on the big jumping thing. Why bore yourself by just SLIDING down. Ellie would leap from the top of the slide.
I guess it is supposed to be better on a roller coaster if you raise your hands in the air
The minute we got out of the truck the girls were ready for Enchanted Island. They had a great time riding on every ride. The lunch was yuk so next time I will be smart and pack my own. They served water, lemonade, and some kind of fruit punch. Ellie wanted to try the fruit punch and said, "Ummm, taste like water". And sure enough, it was so watered down that it really did taste like water. After the picnic lunch the girls saw someone on a paddle boat and wanted to know where that ride was.
So we headed over and rented a paddle boat. They were so so tired but still enjoyed a thirty minute ride around the pond.
Ellie sat on Papa C's lap and helped Mammy paddle almost the whole time
You get a much better workout when you paddle a boat with Ryleigh sitting on your leg while you paddle
a power nap on Mammy's shoulder
Dragging and tired they wanted to go on one more ride.
So back to Enchanted Island for 1 last train ride, 1 last Merry-Go-Round and 1 last bumper boat
bumper boats
, 1 last, 1 last, 1 last. They were so tired that even Ryleigh finally decided her last ride would be on Papa C's lap.
We got home after 4 that afternoon. And of course they got their second wind on the ride home. Or maybe it was a slushie high.
Back at Mammy's getting EVERYTHING out of the toy closet
they sleep some of the time
I make this big bed on the floor in the living room. Ry woke up and moved to the sofa, Ellie rolled around til she was finally sleeping on the floor. The big bed was empy most of the night.
breakfast in bed? Not quite. Just in a box.
