HAPPY BIRTHDAY DERRIL 9-30-08

Happy Birthday Big D. We really enjoyed a happy celebration with Derril's family on Thursday. Laverne organized a family dinner at Garcias restaurant. We got there at the same time as Calvin and Laverne and inside already waiting was Rodney and Queta. Ivelen came and Keith and Becky and what a surprise when Klint walked in. He lives in Snowflake. It was so much fun. I wish we did it more often. On Saturday, me, Derril, Clayton, and Callie all went to the movie, saw Ghost Town, and then went to dinner at Lonestar. Then on Tuesday, Derril's actual birthday, we didn't do anything. Well, our favorite thing. We snuggled up in bed with our laptop computers. I did get Derril a book for his birthday, Power,Faith,and Fantasy by Michael B. Oren. It is pretty big, about 730 pages. So I probably won't have much interaction with Derril for a couple of weeks. Derril loves, LOVES, to read. You will never find him without a book. He not only takes them to bed with him, he always has one at a restaurant, even takes them to the movies just in case, but worse yet, he reads while he drives. Which is really bad considering that he has to use both hands to drive, one hand for the steering wheel and one hand for the hand controls. So when he is reading and driving LOOK OUT. Three fingers on the steering wheel and a finger and thumb on the book. I have even had a complaint from a friend who came across a crazy driver swerving on the road and then noticed that it was Derril with a book. That's my man, and I love him.
