Derril is in the hospital. He went into the emergency room on Saturday (8-2) in the afternoon. And they decided to keep him. They did an ultrasound and decided he has an infection. They don't know why so they took a vampire's share of blood to determine the cause. The test results will not be in for 3 or 4 days. The urologist he saw today said it is up to the hospital doctor whether or not to keep him in the hospital until the results come back. When I went to visit him this afternoon he was bored to death and ready to break out. I just don't get it. I would love to have to stay in bed all day and watch tv and read a good book and have someone bring me my meals on a tray. And you don't even have to clean up after yourself. Sounds like a holiday to me. But go figure, the one who gets to stay just doesn't appreciate it. Seriously, he is feeling better. He is getting an antibiotic IV style. They said the medicine he takes all the time for his urinary tract infection should have taken care of it but since it didn't they put him on the super duper antibiotic. And so today his fever is gone. Actually I think the worst part for him so far has been that the hospital bed has a weight scale built into it. And much to his dismay, he found out he was FAT. Really, he didn't know. I've been telling him but he just didn't believe me. Now don't you go and get all excited and upset. Derril gets sick ALL the time. He has been home with IV's more than a couple of times. And in the hospital more than a couple of times too. Over here at Cluff Castle we are pretty use to this kind of thing. Why, once a nurse taught me how to give him shots. I didn't like it so I made him do it himself. Just thought I'd let you know what was going on in case some crazy rumor gets around. (I would have taken a picture of his infection, but this is a FAMILY website)
